Chief of Staff—Office of the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor

Description of the Position:
The Chief of Staff coordinates the operations of the offices of the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor, and works directly with the senior administration of JTS to assist in the implementation of strategic projects and activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Follow-through and implementation of ideas and proposed actions generated in meetings with the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor
Project management of various strategic and operational initiatives
Ensuring the appropriate and timely response to communications addressed to the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor, and initiating correspondence as necessary
Supervision of the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor's calendars and preparation for critical meetings and conferences
Representing the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor at meetings inside and outside JTS
Research, editing, and writing for articles, speeches, and other special projects
Overseeing the Chancellor's and Executive Vice Chancellor's budget accounts, including discretionary accounts and innovation funds

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
At least five (5) years of relevant experience required
Knowledge of, and commitment to, Judaism and the Jewish community
Ability to handle confidential information with excellent judgment and discretion
Willingness to commit to long and fascinating workdays
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
Hebrew language skills are desirable
