New York State Law on the Maintenance of Public OrderThe State of New York requires us to notify all students concerning an amendment to the Education Law which relates to the maintenance of public order on our campus and in our residence halls. The law mandates that JTS shall prohibit, among other things, any action or situation which recklessly or intentionally endangers mental or physical health or involves the forced consumption of liquor or drugs for any purpose of initiation into or affiliation with any organization. This rule governs the conduct of our students, faculty, staff, visitors and invitees. The penalty for violation of this law includes ejection of a violator from JTS's property, and in the case of a violation by a student, faculty member or staff member, may include suspension or dismissal from JTS. JTS will rescind permission to operate to any organization engaging in such action on JTS's property.
