The Jewish Theological Seminary has been a longtime partner of the Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief (JCDR), an alliance of US and foreign Jewish agencies that provide a united response to humanitarian disasters.
In response to the earthquake that has devastated Haiti, JCDR has formed a special coordinating group—the Jewish Coalition for Haiti Relief—which comprises twenty JCDR member organizations and is committed to supporting the recovery from this massive humanitarian crisis.
The Jewish Coalition for Haiti Relief's members are currently working on the ground through a network of partners providing assistance and relief to victims. Members are also also supporting the efforts of Israeli emergency teams and NGOs in Haiti. Additionally, the Jewish Coalition for Haiti Relief has released a wide appeal for financial assistance to support this Jewish response to the needs of the Haitian people.
