Cantor Larry Magarik: Parent Class—Contemporary Jewish Civilization

We will examine a series of contemporary issues in religious Judaism. One subject is the question of who wrote the Torah and critical text study. A second topic is egalitarianism. The third area is sexuality. In each area, we will examine texts from the Tanakh (Hebrew Bible), rabbinic literature, and Conservative responsa (legal opinions).

Texts will be available in Hebrew and English translations, and the class is open to all parents. It meets Sunday mornings from 9:30–10:35 a.m.
