The placement of students in part-time positions as hazzanim is handled by the director of the Rabbinical School and Cantorial School Placement Service.
All students receive a copy of the code of procedures for placement and are expected to observe the rules and regulations as befits the dignity of a sacred calling. For further information, students should consult the director.
The Cantors Assembly is the professional organization of hazzanim who serve congregations of the Conservative Movement. It provides placement services, professional guidance, and fellowship for its members. It sponsors conferences and yearly conventions and publishes a scholarly periodical. Additionally, it awards scholarships, prizes, and endowments to cantorial students. Graduates of the H. L. Miller Cantorial School are automatically admitted to the Cantors Assembly.
