The Sooner You Understand Career Services: How Can Career Services Assist You?
This session is geared toward all students, with an emphasis on those in their first and second years, and addresses career services at List College, Columbia University, and Barnard College.
Résumés, Cover Letters, and Interview Etiquette
This session is for all students, regardless of where they are on their job search path. It highlights the basic Dos and Don'ts of résumé and cover-letter writing, and how to prepare for and follow up after an interview.
Internships—Invaluable Lessons and Experiences: As Told by Upper-Class Students
This session is geared towards first- and second-year students; however all students are invited to attend. It is co-facilitated by juniors and seniors who are working diverse internships.
Theme Session
This session is open to all students. To better understand different fields, meet with alumni working in varied industries. The specific fields invited include law, Jewish nonprofit/social services, education, marketing and PR, social justice, and finance (depending on availability, more fields will be represented).
How to Find a Job in a NYC Congregational School (Teaching/Tutoring)
This session is open to all students and addresses the ever-popular part-time job—working at a congregational school (formerly known as Hebrew school) as a teacher or Bar or Bat Mitzvah tutor.
Career Night
This session is open to all students. This event has been a huge success in the past, bringing together more than fifty students, twenty alumni, and ten board members. The event focuses on providing networking opportunities for students, particularly seniors, and concrete career and internship advice for all attendees.
All sessions are held in the evenings, and dinner is provided. Session titles and facilitators may change. Alumni are invited, and often co-facilitate, offering their own experiences and knowledge.
