Jewish Week’s seventh annual “36 Under 36” list of rising Jewish innovators for 2014 features Rabbi Jessica Minnen, graduate of The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS).
While a student at JTS, Rabbi Jessica Minnen (RS '13) founded Seven Wells, a sex-education program for adults that draws on Jewish texts and values to connect the notion of healthy intimacy with the idea of healthy spirituality. Rabbi Minnen also holds a High Holy Day pulpit position at Beth El Congregation in Bethesda, Maryland, and works as assistant director of the Jewish Journey Project, where she leads a team of over 20 educators and creates alternative curricular models. She is director of content and training for the Shabbat Project, a new joint project of the Steinhardt Foundation and the Paul Singer Family Foundation, which works to "inspire, support and enable" young Jewish adults to create their own Shabbat dinner experiences.
