Welcome to the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) of The Jewish Theological Seminary.
OIR is a trusted provider of accurate, timely, unbiased, research-based information regarding JTS and its role in higher education. The office serves as a catalyst and coalition builder in support of JTS's mission by collecting, archiving, analyzing, and reporting internally consistent and accurate data that facilitates strategic planning and administrative decision-making and assists in the assessment of institutional effectiveness, compliance requirements, and student learning, while developing and disseminating knowledge relevant to effective operations of the institution. The office provides many of JTS's internal and external constituencies—the administration, faculty, and trustees, among others—with information, planning services, and research assistance. The OIR coordinator serves as institutional liaison to the US Department of Education, the New York State Education Department, and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Universities.
