"Psalm 19 and the Balancing Act of Jewish Theology," with Dr. Benjamin D. Sommer, Professor of Bible

Psalm 19, recited in traditional rabbinic liturgy every Shabbat and holiday, is a beautiful poem about how we can come to know God. It poses the question: can we know God through nature, or is revelation necessary for acquiring the truth about what is in heaven? Answering this question will take us from the text of Psalm 19 through a few other biblical texts, into some archaeological finds, through modern Christian theology, and back to the biblical text.
