The Still, Small Voice: A Journalist and Her Rabbi on Regaining Intimate, Authentic Conversation
Two years ago, when the pandemic first hit, good friends Dahlia Lithwick and Rabbi Jan Uhrbach decided it was time to begin the weekly Jewish study session they’d been talking about for a while. Lithwick, an award-winning legal commentator, and Uhrbach, Acting Dean of The Rabbincal School at JTS and rabbi of the Conservative Synagogue of the Hamptons, found their study leading to deep, intimate conversations: about the changing nature of their jobs, the shocking anger unleashed in current discourse, and living in a society where both people and their words are packaged and judged like consumer goods. Listen in as they share a very personal conversation both about those issues and about reclaiming the gift of authentic, honest dialogue that allows us to expand our views and nurture our souls.
The conversation will be moderated by Rabbi Gordon Tucker, Vice Chancellor for Religious Life and Engagement
