U.S. Treasury Secretary Lew to Address JTS Graduates

May 10, 2016 (New York, NY)—On Tuesday, May 17, United States Treasury Secretary Jack Lew will deliver the commencement address to The Jewish Theological Seminary’s (JTS) class of 2016. This year, JTS will award honorary degrees to a distinguished group of leaders in government, civil rights, public service, academia, and the arts. In addition to Secretary Lew, recipients are:

  • Jonathan Lippman, former chief judge of the New York Court of Appeals
  • Abraham Foxman, former national director of the Anti-Defamation League
  • Dr. Michael Fishbane, scholar of Judaism and rabbinic literature
  • Roz Chast, award-winning cartoonist
  • Karen Davidson, philanthropist

Commencement will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at JTS located at 3080 Broadway (at 122nd Street) in New York City.
