Our Memorable 80th Anniversary of Torah Fund 

With all milestone anniversaries, it is customary to reflect on the past by acknowledging and celebrating accomplishments and to wish for a bright future. That is exactly what we have done over the last year and a half in celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Torah Fund campaign. Our 80th-anniversary committee created specific divrei Torah to use throughout our celebratory year. We offered programming suggestions and articles and scripts for regions and sisterhoods to use. We loved receiving all the pictures of the 80th birthday cakes that were served throughout North America this past year. 

It was especially important to proudly reflect on all the past projects of the Torah Fund campaign. Many cantors, rabbis, and current students throughout North America spoke at special Torah Fund events about the impact of the scholarship funds they received, which enabled them to continue their studies. How impactful it is when a graduate of one of our seminaries stands before our members and shares their spiritual journey; not only to hear their personal stories, but to gain a better understanding of where our funds go. 

At the core of our anniversary year, a new level of giving was created. This special campaign was called “Plus 80: $80 for 80 Years.” How pleased we are that nearly 500 women, sisterhoods, and regions contributed to this Plus 80 campaign. We thank each and every one of you! 

To continue for another 80 years, the Torah Fund campaign must remain relevant to our members so that they will continue to support this worthwhile cause. We need to ensure our future by educating our lay leaders, teachers, cantors, chaplains, and rabbis to guide us and our families for centuries to come. Here’s to the next 80!
