Why JTS?
Inspired Leadership, Inspired Community
Great leaders bring out the best in the Jewish people. For our communities to flourish and our organizations to thrive, we need to create exceptional leaders. That’s what JTS does.
JTS graduates go out into the world ready to lead. For every rabbi and cantor we graduate, a whole community is inspired; for every day school and congregational school principal we teach, hundreds of children learn what it means to be Jewish; for every Hillel director we prepare, thousands of college students find meaningful Jewish experiences on campus.
You Feel Our Impact Every Day
Wherever you find a vibrant Jewish community committed to tradition and open to the world, you’ll find a JTS graduate hard at work.
Alumni Shaping a New Jewish World
JTS trains students who go on become changemakers across the Jewish world. They’re people like Dori Frumin Kirschner, who earned an MA from our Kekst Graduate School and now leads Matan, a groundbreaking national voice in Jewish special education. Or Rabbi Rachel Ain, whose passion for Jewish life infuses every part of Sutton Place Synagogue, the thriving New York City congregation she leads.
Dori Frumin Kirshner is executive director of Matan. Thanks to Matan, more than 60,000 Jewish children attend Jewish schools and camps that understand the needs of all types of learners.
Rabbi Rachel Ain leads a vibrant community at Sutton Place Synagogue in Manhattan, overseeing a Hebrew school, nursery school, bar and bat mitzvah lessons, adult learning, conversions, community organizing, ritual and prayer, and so much more.
The Crossroads Campaign
Through the Crossroads Campaign, we are ensuring we can continue to graduate the kind of leaders who inspire today’s, and tomorrow’s, Jews. To learn how you can be a part of JTS’s Crossroads Campaign, contact donate@jtsa.edu.
